Is it possible for a man to have no feelings for the mother of his child?

I am interested in a man who just had a baby by a woman he is not in a relationship with, and who he claims to have no romantic feelings for. They dated for a year or so, broke up, then had an unplanned pregnancy when they had a brief reconciliation (i.e., a call.) Everything I know of him is good, he seems to be a really solid guy, but this is really giving me lots of cause for hesitation. I know things happen, and at least he is taking responsibility and being a man about it, but I find it hard to believe he has no feelings for a woman he watched carry and then give birth to his child. Don't you just naturally feel something for a woman you have a child with?
