Does the specter of substance dualism (a bad pun) hamper your acceptance of "soul mates"?

If the soul is understood not as something religious or as a distinct kind of "mental substance" a la Descartes (another bad pun) but rather in the Aristotelean sense of simply those aspects of the whole person such as their capacities, aptitudes, dispositions, affections, and so forth, with presumption that the soul must be separable from the body, does the idea of "soul mates" become less contentious for you?
