How do you deal with these sort of people ?

We are going to my wife’s sons wedding in a couple of months to New York. OK, nothing too grand there, But, she seems to not want to speak to us, as we live so far from them, when we do speak to them it’s on Skype, but she always makes sure she is out of camera shot, and does not say hardly a word even in the back ground. I find this very rude and disrespectful to both my wife and me. I am Also finding her son extremely patronizing toward us. Saying stupid things like when you get to New York, you be amazed how many places you will se that have been in films. HAHA, Well I am overwhelmed and shocked, come on how stupid and shallow does he think we are. Even citing the film Borat, where he was washing his pants on a rock in central park. And the idiot took a picture of it! God help them!!! I am not looking forward to this wedding at all, Did I know Kevin Costner lives in New York, WOW! And!!! My wife says shut up, to me, don’t cause trouble, but I do find it very difficult, as their behaviour and treatment of us can generally be summed up as insulting and patronizing which I absolutely hate!
