I'm writing my first story. Any story suggestions?

The Shadows should have the ability to melt into shadows and control people through their shadows. Also, the kids can't save the tree. They have to go on a quest to find a seed to plant a new tree. And Jeremy should have the power of the Mind, gifted with the power of Dreams and Imagination. He is able to enter a trance and awaken as his Dream Self, which can interact with the real world in ways that the others can't. (He can phase through walls, create things in the real world if he concentrates hard enough, etc.) If his real self dies, he can still survive as his Dream Self.
